This restaurant is in downtown Columbia SC. I had a reservation and we were seated right away. The servers were excellent and so very polite. The cocktails were so good, even the Shirley Temple was good with no alcohol. We had the use of the small private room which was perfect. Now as far as the meats go, the variety ranged from filet mignon to sausage. The favorite of the night had to be the lamb and the sirloin. The sides and salad options were good, but I do wish they had warm versions of the salmon and shrimp on the buffet instead of cold. Of the non meat options, the potato salad and grilled pineapple were tasty. We did not have desert since we brought a birthday cake with us but we will try the next time we go back. This place is great for big parties or parties of two. I would not recommend it for children if they are in their picky food stage of growth but if your child is open to trying new things they might like it.

Absolutely a wonderful experience! My husband and I went here to celebrate Valentine's Day. The food is served in a fun and unique way. The side dishes are in a salad bar set up. They had salads, veggies such as asparagus and pasta salads. When it is time to have the main course, you have a chip on your table, green means you are ready to receive food and red means you are not. There are 15 meat types that come to your table and you choose whether you would want some. Some of the meat served: flank steak, garlic steak, ribeye, lamb chops and sausage. They also bring around garlic bread and grilled pineapple. They food comes to the table as many times as you want. It was absolutely a great way to try and have all of the types of meat you can think of. My sangria was fantastic, it had just a perfect amount of alcohol and fruit. The restaurant is simple and tastefully decorated, it has a welcoming environment. If you love meat, you will love this restaurant.

This is my second time at Cowboys. This time we came on a busier night, as it was the day after Valentine's Day. The place is always clean and well polished! The tables are always set very nicely! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, however I just wish we had more opportunity to get the full range of meats. We only were offered a few off the menu. We even asked for a certain selection and it still never made its way to our table. I don't know if it's because it was 2 hours before closing or if it was because we were sitting in the window section, but it seemed like we were getting forgotten about a little bit by the meat servers. Our actual server was amazing though! He was nice and personable! Overall we had a great time and the food was great.

BLUF: It's worth going to at least once and maybe a special occasion when you have friends in town that haven't been. It was fun but not something I'd make regular and while they had some hits with the experience they also had some misses. Service. When our part arrived even with reservations we still had to wait for almost an hour. We understood the party in front of us would not leave but it is frustrating to make a reservation and then not have a table ready. Once inside it took forever for water and forever plus a year for any drinks. The waitress explained the bartender was suffering and apologized. Throughout the night they would come around at first often with meat but later and later they came by less and less. The salad, pasta, rice, and vegetables bar was serviced and stocked for the most part. They started to run out of greens and never replaced the crackers. When it came time to check out they brought out our bill with little to no issues. One thing they did really well was replace a mixed drink with no issue when the bartender used the wrong alcohol. Food. Food for the most part was good. The vegetables were cook well. The kale was some of the best I've ever had. While I didn't have the rice others in our party made a fuss about how good it was. The meats were hit and miss. The filet mignon was way over cook. I mean it was cooked over well done and almost impossible to chew. The lamb was extra rare. But then some of the other steak was cooked really well. Ambiance. The place is small but not too loud. And while it's small our party of about 11 fit snug into the corner. Moving around seems like it would be a mess and it can be but somehow with they way they have it set up on the floor it flows well. You had people with walkers, people at the center bar, waiters moving around with stacks of meats, and people sitting at tables but everyone seemed to move easy enough. I overall enjoyed it. I don't know if they won me to come back again. Your going to spend about 70 dollars per person for the experience. You can get a good steak meal for that price and know it'll all be cooked how you like. So if you want the experience to try different meats sure it's perfect for you. You'll leave full also. But I think your really paying for the experience. It's definitely a thing to do as a group rather than as a date or single night out.
